Whitney-Kennedy lever action repeating rifle. Marked on top of barrel "WHITNEY ARMS CO./NEW HAVEN.CONN.U.S.A.", caliber marked "44 CAL." for 44-40, and on frame tang "PAT'D JANY 7-73./APR 1 (2) MAY 13 & AUG 12-79". Serial number Q576. 24" round barrel. Metal parts have a medium patina overall. Stock has original surfaces worn from use with honestly-earned light handling marks. Has a small crack to right of frame tang. Appears to be mechanically good. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
