Fine English double barrel twist shotgun by J.P.Clabrough & Bros., as marked on locks. Additionally marked on barrel rib "J.P.CLABROUGH & BRO'S LONDON LAMINATED STEEL". Serial number 2457. 30" barrels, 12 gauge. Finely-executed engraving including on pistol grip cap and vignettes of dog on triggerguard and bird on underside of frame. Left hammer is a period replacement. Metal parts have a light to medium patina with a little rust on the barrels. Stock is good, checkered in wrist and forearm, having a light added finish, a small sliver missing from left forearm edge by frame, and some expected handling marks overall. Ribbed horn buttplate is worn and missing a sliver. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
