Double barrel sidelever shotgun by renowned maker and inventor Henri Pieper of Herstal, Belgium. Serial number 16806. Marked on locks "H.PIEPER" and on barrel rib "H.PIEPER PATENTED APRIL 23 1881". 30" barrels, 12 gauge. Metal parts have a mottled patina overall with striped twist finish on the barrels. Stocks show average wear and use with expected handling marks. Has a small possible crack below the left lock. Genuine horn buttplate is aged and flaked on the toe from having some delamination. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
