antique US Springfield Krag M1896 carbine. Serial number 91886. Made in 1898, previous owner indicated in the month of April. Upgraded to M1899 configuration using stock without saddle ring and M1899 handguard with "hump" to protect rear sight. 22" round barrel. Blued parts have mostly fine to very fine original finish, showing wear on higher points in particular, casehardened and bright parts have a light to medium patina. Stock is very good, having been lightly cleaned with a light finish added. Wood overall shows minimal scattered light handling marks, and a long, shallow scratch on the left side of the butt. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
