scarce antique US Springfield Krag M1898 saddle ring carbine. Serial number 130550. Standard receiver markings, cartouche in left side behind saddle ring with date worn away, good "P" firing proof. Standard M1898 configuration in correct serial range, only 5,000 produced. Metal parts are a dark patina overall with some light scattered pitting on the barrel. Stock shows average wear and use overall, showing a few minor chips in various places, including behind barrel band, forward of receiver, by receiver tang, and by buttplate. Has a small piece of wood replaced below band spring. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
