C1820-40 flintlock militia musket built using French M1728 marine musket barrel, brass triggerguard and buttplate. 46-1/2" part octagon, part round barrel. Reconverted to flintlock. Metal parts have a smooth, untouched dark patina overall with minimal old scattered rust and pitting. Nice antique handmade ramrod. Stock is good, showing average wear and use overall, has a little filler around a pin for the buttplate, a crack in the lock area that shows some movement, has some lateral cracks and small slivers in the edges of the forearm. Rear lock screw is a replacement, lock is internally complete and cocks, but hammer is poorly fitted and doesn't operate the lock. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
