M1816 Harpers Ferry Type II flintlock musket dated 1825 on lock. Harpers Ferry proofs on barrel and in wood opposite lock with cartouche and inspector letters. Metal parts have an attractive brown patina evocative of original brown finish. Inspector initials are present on a number of metal parts. Stock shows light wear and use overall, having been lightly cleaned, with a small crack by the rear lock screw, small sliver missing to left of barrel tang, and some minor chipping to ramrod channel and adjacent to buttplate. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
