M1816 Springfield transitional musket, dated 1817 on lock and barrel. Flat lockplate with integral iron pan, M1816 style markings. Metal parts have dark patina overall with an overall light pitting, with clear markings still present. Stock is very good with small cartouche present opposite lock, shows light wear overall with a couple minor age cracks at rear of buttstock. Hammer does not always cock properly. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
