M1835 Springfield flintlock musket, dated 1840 on lock. Nice cartouches opposite lock. Reconverted to flintlock using aged reproduction parts. Metal parts have a dark patina overall with scattered light pitting. Sling swivels are absent. Stock shows average wear and use overall with light handling marks and two slivers missing on either side of barrel tang. There is some added finish to the butt not immediately apparent that is probably concealing some wood repair, which would have been done smoothly, because it is not possible to ascertain the extent of any repair. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
