M1842 US H.Aston percussion contract pistol dated 1848 on lock. Barrel and lock have a dark patina overall with some scattered pitting, brass parts are a lighter coloration with some dings from handling. Stock shows wear and use overall with cartouches still present opposite lock, numerous handling marks, some old chips to the lock mortise and forearm edges, and some initials, name "WILL" and possible date "12" in left side of grip. Hammer half cocks and cocks, but clicks aren't as audible as normal. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
