Hammond's patent "Bulldog" single shot .44 rimfire caliber single shot derringer by the Connecticut Arms & Manufacturing Company of Naubuc, Connecticut. Standard markings on barrel and breech block. Novel action that swings open to the side for loading. Standard 4" barrel. Metal parts are a medium gray patina overall with some case color present on breech block. Checkered hard rubber grips are very good, showing expected wear and use, but free of cracks and chips. Mechanically good except hammer does not hold at half cock, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
