Hammond's patent "Bulldog" single shot .44 rimfire caliber single shot derringer by the Connecticut Arms & Manufacturing Company of Naubuc, Connecticut. Serial number 1567. Standard markings on barrel and breech block. Novel action that swings open to the side for loading. Standard 4" barrel. Metal parts have very fine original blue finish on the barrel and case colors on breech block/frame. Checkered hard rubber grips are good, showing expected wear and use, with a very faint crack on the right panel. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
