Hammond's patent "Bulldog" single shot .44 rimfire caliber single shot derringer by the Connecticut Arms & Manufacturing Company of Naubuc, Connecticut. Serial number 1609. Standard markings on barrel and breech block, showing some wear on the barrel. Novel action that swings open to the side for loading. Standard 4" barrel. Metal parts have a medium to dark brown patina overall. Replaced front sight. White bone grips have factory pencil serial number on the inside matching, showing a smooth, attractive appearance with only a couple tiny edge nicks. Action functions but breech block lockup is loose, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
