State of Connecticut contract Peabody militia rifle. Standard patent and maker marks in left side of frame, sling swivel plate in toe of butt marked "CONN/357" with additional unit markings "CO E 4". 33" barrel with markings at breech. Metal parts have an attractive medium patina overall. Stocks are good, showing average wear and use overall with scattered light handling marks, a deeper scratch in the right side of the butt and some scraping under the lock. Extractor is absent, otherwise mechanically good. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
