antique US Springfield Krag M1896 rifle. Serial number 64703. Made in 1897, previous owner indicated in the month of June. 30" barrel. Model 1896 handguard, M1896 rear sight. Faint outline of inspector cartouche left of receiver, with good "P" firing proof behind triggerguard. Metal parts are mostly a medium-dark brown patina with a dark plum patina on barrel. Stock shows light wear and use, having been lightly cleaned with a light added finish. Wood shows scattered light to moderate handling marks and is free of cracks and chips. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
