Winchester Model 1886 lever action rifle. Serial number 155282, made in 1917. 24" barrel, 33 W.C.F. caliber. Bore is good, showing some erosion, but clean and not pitted. Barrel is in blue finish with wear on carry points and high spots. Receiver shows silver/gray patina with traces of blue in protected areas. Has knurled pattern hammer and "NICKEL STEEL BARREL" marking. Left side of receiver has two small screw plugs for a peep sight mount. Wood stock and forearm show average handling with shallow dents and scratches, probably lightly cleaned, and a old narrow wood filler crack repair on right side of butt. Shotgun profile butt with Winchester hard rubber buttplate in fine condition. Ships to FFL dealer or C&R license holder where eligible. Appears to be mechanically functional. Sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot. Before considering using this arm, we recommend inspection by a professional gunsmith.
